RE: COVID-19 OUTBREAK
Good Afternoon fellow Referees,
I hope that this message finds you, your family and friends well.
As you are all aware, we are going through a very difficult time with the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. During this time, it is imperative that we follow guidelines set out by our health and government officials. Here some recommendations, to keep you and your family safe:
Keep twice an arm’s length between yourself and others. Stay home when possible.
Give enough space when standing in line when you are out purchasing necessities.
Avoid direct physical contact, such as handshaking or hugging.
Wash your hands regularly and frequently with soap for at least 20 seconds.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
Seek medical attention and/or self-isolate if you have any symptoms.
Spread love and caring instead of fear and false information.
Be kind, considerate and generous to your neighbours and fellow citizens
TSRA has suspended all “in person” education sessions and social activities for the duration of the pandemic. We will follow recommendations and directives given by our health departments and government guidelines. The annual Referee Expo which is scheduled for the first week of May is cancelled. The TSRA education director (Jay Thomas) as partnered with York Region soccer referee association to access online education. Information emails will be sent out to all our mailing list with regards to
this new initiative.
TRSA executive will continue to work for our members and soccer referee community to provide the best possible services during this unprecedented time. Let us know if we can be of any assistance to you.
I have great news to share with our members. I can confirm that I have free Law books available for individuals that have paid their TSRA membership fee for 2020. I am confident that we can curb the spread of this virus. There is no doubt in my mind that we will get through this difficult period. In the meantime stay safe. Help our front line doctors, nurses and first responders by staying home as much as possible.
I look forward to seeing all of you on the soccer pitch went we are victorious over COVID- 19.
